About Us
Lucky Minou is owned and operated by Chef Sean McGuire. Rooted in Abita Springs, Louisiana, and named after the Japanese lucky cat, Maneki Neko.
“Minou” is a term that has long been used in Louisiana as the Cajun and Creole French nickname for cat. Lucky Minou blends the bold flavors of Louisiana into the deep tradition of sushi making, to create a unique dining experience for you and your guests.
What We Do
Lucky Minou strives to source local, seasonal, and organic ingredients, with many fresh herbs and peppers grown on our one-acre homestead in Mandeville, Louisiana. We feature seafood delivered from both Japan and locally from the Gulf of Mexico.
We bring a full sushi bar to your wedding, party, or private event, where every dish is cut and prepared onsite so it reaches your guests at its peak of freshness.

Find your date.
Peak weekends book months in advance, especially through wedding season and holiday season.
Choosing a date sends a request. Nothing is booked until Chef Sean confirms with you personally. Events need at least a day's notice, so today isn't selectable.

We cater live and arrive two hours before the party to set up. Every dish is rolled, cut, and plated live at your event.

Our parties have a 10 person minimum. If you're having a more intimate occasion, we suggest ordering from our delivery menu. We offer our catered boxes delivered to your home or office in elegant black cake boxes lined with gold foil.
Free delivery within 50 miles of Abita Springs. Please order in advance as delivery is limited.
Delivery menus
Each box is 7 rolls cut into 8 pieces, 56 pieces in all. You can choose your rolls or just go with chef's choice. We also offer 25 and 50 piece nigiri boxes, sashimi, apps and entrees.
